During the MADANI Government One Year Anniversary Programme held at Stadium Bukit Jalil, leading metaverse and immersive technology company, Virtualtech Frontier (VTF), has entered into a memorandum of collaboration (MOC) with Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp) as the Metaverse Industry Partner for mynext TVET initiative.
YAB Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Bin Hamidi, Timbalan Perdana Menteri, said in his speech, “The collaboration between the Ministry of Higher Education and the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers underscores the importance of government-private sector cooperation. Through this partnership, a joint venture has been formed involving over 10,000 companies. Notably, all TVET participants completing the courses are promptly offered employment opportunities.”
The collaboration aims to fill the existing supply gap by highlighting the importance of trades and crafts and encouraging more individuals to pursue these career paths. Henceforth, the Government is working towards a comprehensive policy framework, paralleling those in education, to promote and elevate TVET pathways.
“As an organisation with TVET graduates as team members, VTF understands the value these individuals bring to the table.With the tech industry growing, it is essential to prep the future generation with digital skills as it’s critical necessity for success in the 21st century”, said Jason Low, CEO at Virtualtech Frontier, stated. “This strategic collaboration aims to ensure that every TVET graduate is not just proficient in traditional trades but also well-versed in the technological advancements that drive our interconnected world. Together, VTF and TalentCorp are laying the foundation for a future workforce that is not only skilled and versatile but also at the forefront of the digital revolution.”
During the event, 19 MOCs were signed among the government, GLCs, and private firms. The established agreements were grounded in the relevance of respective fields and mutually defined scopes, aiming to foster strong collaboration with the industry. As VTF joins the industry leaders, they will pave the way for innovation and growth, redefining education and industry collaboration. Together, they set new standards for the future of technical and vocational education in Malaysia.
